  • Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation - Villupuram (Tnstc-VPM) is one of the Six transport corporations in Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation in Tamil Nadu. It is headquartered at Villupuram .

  • The objective of the Corporation is to provide efficient, economical and co-ordinated transport facility to the public in the jurisdiction of Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Tirupattur, Ranipet, Kanchipuram, Chengalpet and Tiruvallur.

  • This Corporation Also Connects Four States OF South India , Tamilnadu,Karnataka,Andrapradesh,Pondicherry

  • Simply , TNSTC – Villupuram was formed after Merging Individual Corporations such as  TPTC Thanthai Periyar Transport Corporation, PATC Pattukottai Alagiri Transport Corporation, MGRTC Dr.MGR Transport Corporation.
  • Before that , In 1997 when Tamilnadu government decided to change the name of every corporation to TNSTC extension to form
  1. TPTC became TNSTC – Villupuram Region I
  2. PATC to TNSTC – Villupuram Region  II
  3. MGRTC to TNSTC – Villupuram Region  III
  • Later Tnstc Villupuram, Ltd Introduced another New Regions - Thiruvallur , Cuddalore splitting From Villupuram for making an better operations in these areas.​

  • He is the head of the Corporation.

  • He is responsible for the careful observance of the Business Rules and Government instructions in the transaction of the business.

  • Policy matters and all important matters are dealt with in consultation with Secretary, Transport Department who will be the overall in-charge of the Corporation.

  • He exercises general supervision and control over the staff working under him including

    • General Manager,

    • Senior Deputy Manager,

    • Deputy Manager,

    • Assistant Manager etc.,

  • Also he is responsible for seeing that the members of the staff do the work allotted to them efficiently and expeditiously.

General manager  - Tnstc -Villupuram Ltd,

  • The General Manager of each regions are responsible for operation and maintenance of the buses.

  • They do general supervision and control over the staff/sections placed in charge, both in regard to dispatch of business and in regard to discipline.
